Biography from AskART:
The brother of sculptor Benjamin Akers, Charles Akers was a sculptor and crayon portraitist who studied in Rome, Italy with his brother in the mid 1850s. He returned to New York City and established a studio and in the 1870s moved to Waterbury, Connecticut.
