| | Born in San Francisco, CA on June 1, 1866. Shortly after his birth, the Alisky family moved to Portland, OR where Charles' father became a prominent businessman. The younger Alisky married artist Charlotte Duncan; the newlyweds then studied art in Munich and Dresden during 1890-91. Mrs. Alisky had an art studio in Portland during 1892-93; the marriage later ended in divorce. By 1898 Charles had returned to California and was a resident of his native city except for the year 1911 when he lived in San Jose.
