Claire Allen studied at the Taylor Art School in Saugatuck, Michigan and took summer classes at the Ox-Bow School. Other training took place at the Le Vieux Moulin Art Center in Quebec and with Leo Hogan at the Burren Art Centre, County Clare, Ireland. She exhibited throughout Michigan beginning in 1967, and in Ireland where she led Irish Holidays for Painters. In addition she also taught classes at All Saints. She died in December on 1976 in Fennville, Michigan.
