Corilla Charlotte Dreutzer was born in March of 1872 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, the daughter of C.G. Dreutzer, a Swedish immigrant and President of the Riverside Printing Company. She attended classes at the Art Institute of Chicago where she was in the same class with Ernest Hemingway’s mother, Grace (Hill) Hemingway. The two women did not get along: she often related how Mrs. Hemingway would criticize her choice of colors.
On October 21, 1897 she married Charles Edward (showing 500 of 1513 characters). |
