This biography from the Archives of AskART:
The following is submitted by Kathy Drungilas, Webmaster, Mid America Pastel Society. Her reference is the website of the artist.

Donna Aldridge, a member of the Pastel Society of America, is known for her broad, spacious landscapes and luscious still lifes, and continues to enjoy painting the figure and portrait. She works in a broad range of mediums, though has focused works of recent years primarily in pastels and oils.

Color "in fascinating relationshipsexcites her most, and she engineers her compositions with dynamic movement and balances, which lead the viewer on a journey through each piece. She strives to convey a strong sense of light and shadow or atmosphere and applies pigment richly.

Donna Aldridge is a signature member of the Pastel Society of America and the first member of the Mid America Pastel Society to be awarded Signature and Master Pastelist status. Aldridge is a co-founder and past president of the MidAmerica Pastel Society (2000-2002) and continues to serve as editor of their newsletter.

Aldridge has been quite active in the community, having served on the boards of charities and other Kansas City, regional and national organizations, in several groups as president.

Aldridge graduated 1962 from William Woods University, Fulton, Missouri. She was awarded the Alumnae of Distinction by William Woods University in 1984.

In addition to her studio work and painting commissions, she teaches special painting workshops plus several regular classes in her studio in Overland Park, KS while writing articles and a book on painting.
