| Born in Michigan on May 30, 1863, Edith Ann Abels settled in Los
Angeles in 1887. While a resident of San Fernando in 1891, she painted
landscapes and floral still lifes.
A reviewer wrote of her work's "fineness of finish and truthfulness of
outline.” Unmarried, she died in Los Angeles on September
16, 1924.
