Emile Alexay (1891-1948/49)
A portrait painter, court painter to the Hapsburgs in Austria, pioneer of luminous painting in fine art and art educator, he was born in Volloc, near Budapest, Hungary in 1891. Emile Alexay entered the School of Industrial Art in Budapest at the age of fourteen and in his fourth year won the contests in life drawing and portraiture. After graduating, Alexay secured a position with one of the eminent architects of Budapest and at the age of nin (showing 500 of 2380 characters). |
