Emile Artiges (1864-1938)

Emile Artiges, often classified as “an early 20th century American landscape artist,” was actually born November 26, 1864, in Belgium, of Belgian-French ancestry. Little is known of his formative years other than the fact that he studied at the Beaux Arts, in Paris.
In late November 1892, however, Emile and his wife, Emma Kleinschmidt, newly married, emigrated from Paris to the United States on the (showing 500 of 6703 characters). |
