| | Born in Missouri on Dec. 24, 1884. Abeel migrated to California with her family at age three and settled in Santa Rosa. She studied at UC Berkeley, CCAC, with Armin Hansen and Cedric Gray in Monterey, AIC, Académies Ranson and Colarossi in Paris. She taught art in the public schools of Oakland from 1920 and later at Santa Rosa High School until shortly before her death on May 14, 1963. Exh: Oakland Art Gallery, 1925 (solo); SFAA, 1925; Calif.
