Gene Ahern studied at the Chicago Art Institute. He started his career of cartooning in the early 1910's, creating strips like "Taking Her to the Ball Game", "Fathead Fritz", "Dream Dope", and "Squirrel Food". In this last strip he introduced his long-lasting characters "The Nut Brothers", Ches and Wal.
In 1923 Ahern's innovative daily strip "Our Boarding House" was published and became a great success. By 1936, he was a (showing 500 of 702 characters). |
