This biography from the Archives of AskART:

He served in the United States Army during World War II with the 1st Infantry Division in North Africa and Europe.  He spent his later years in Chicago and was actively involved in the Old Town Art School.  He died in Chicago on Sunday, December 13, 2009. 

The Pritzker Military Library has his papers related to his military service and selected artwork (mainly created between 1940-1945.)
