Little is known of the life and career of Gerda-Maria Ahlm, a landscape and portrait painter who was born in Besteros, Sweden. The artist studied at the Free Art Academy of Stockholm from 1889 to 1891 and later studied etching with Axel Tallberg (1860-1928) in 1896.
She made numerous study trips to France, Germany, Italy, England and Belgium before immigrating to Chicago around 1903.
She exhibited at the Art Institute of Chicago (1905 and 1906) and was one of th (showing 500 of 1017 characters). |
