| Known as a printmaker and sculptor, Glen Alps made several innovative contributions in the printmaking field. He named and developed advanced processes of the Collagraph print, and was the first artist to exhibit a collagraph, something he did in 1957 at the Brooklyn Museum. He also developed printmaking techniques using burnt lacquer on masonite and on vitreographs, prints pulled from glass plates. (Burndt lacquer plates are no longer made because automotive lacquer now has an acrylic base-Nich (showing 500 of 1905 characters). |
