Allchin died in Ipswich October 22d of a sudden heart attack at age 58.
He lived in the Catskills, summered in Ipswich at Woodbury's cottage -- on the beach at Crane's Beach. He also boarded with Willcomb family on Agawam Avenue where he had a small studio overlooking Town Wharf.
Allchin was the son of William and Marion Gray Allchin, born in England. He had three brothers, a lawyer, priest, and a doctor.
