| | Born in Chicago, IL in 1871. Allen studied at the AIC and taught design there briefly. He came to San Francisco during the PPIE of 1915 and opted to remain. A still life specialist, he painted in his leisure and headed the interior design department at Gump's for many years. He died in Contra Costa County, CA on Sept. 24, 1966.
