Biography from First Light Gallery, LLC:
| | Artist Jaye Julia Adams received both classical and modern art instruction in a wide variety of painting mediums. She studied watercolor with Don Stone and modern abstract techniques at the Museum School in Boston. Ms. Adams continued her education in New York at the Art Students League with Robert Brackman and Everett Ray Kinstler before studying mural and movie techniques with Lester Polokov.
The many movie sets she has painted bring her inspiration from her other passion, film, into her studio experience. She is also credited with painting the two acre murals for the Bronx Zoo's Jungle World building and the new mural at Tavern on the Green in Central Park, New York.
Jaye Adams is intrigued by the luminous glaze in rich oil and finds this medium conducive to rendering intense color in her "bold, blocky" technique. Her passion for color is inspired by nature and the French painter, Henri Matisse. She strives for unique representational imagery that honors the past and is fresh today.
Ms. Adam's paintings are frequently on display at the Nationsl Arts Club in New York as well as on exhibit in France. |
