Biography from Bluebird Gallery:
| Joseph Aaron is a young California plein-air impressionist painter
dedicated full time to the depiction of outdoor scenes like those of
the early California impressionists and of Ovanes Berberian with whom
he has studied. Although he also paints still life and floral
subjects, his passion and focus lies primarily with landscapes.
His favorite subjects are drawn from the areas of Santa Barbara and
Ojai, north up the coast, to Morro Bay.
Aaron, who expresses the desire to be known and remembered for his work, was recently listed in Davenport’s Art Reference & Price Guide as well as The Artists Bluebook.
He was born in Southern California in 1959. During his high
school years, he expressed his art interest through drawing, but did
not actively pursue an art career for fifteen years.
However, his artistic inclinations were again awakened by the natural
landscape and by work he saw in art galleries while living near Laguna
Beach, California. After a period of dabbling in pencil, pen and
ink and acrylic, he began to work in oil in 1994.
