This biography from the Archives of AskART:
| | Born at Old Forge, Pennsylvania near Scranton, he spent most of his life in the Scranton area where he worked in a laundry and dry cleaning establishment. He did not begin painting until late in life, when he was encouraged by winning a top prize in a regional show at Everhart Museum in Scranton. His oil on canvas portraits seem to reflect strongly the character of the subject with great attention to detail and skillful use of balanced colors. |
