| | Born in Reno, NV on Feb. 11, 1906. Allan studied art in San Francisco at Rudolph Schaeffer School, Academy of Advertising Art, and privately with Maria von Ridelstein. While a resident of Berkeley during the 1930s and 1940s, she worked as illustrator for the Oakland Tribune and in her leisure painted portraits and still lifes.
