This biography from the Archives of AskART:
Born in Seattle, WA on March 17, 1909. Anderson studied at the University of Washington and with Lionel Pries. In the early 1930s he settled in Los Angeles where he was on the faculty at the Chouinard School of Art. Walking past the Disney Studios in 1934, he went in, applied for a job, and stayed for 44 years. While there, he was an animator on "Snow White" and art director of "Fantasia," "Pinocchio," and others. Before retirement in 1978, he helped design Disneyland and many of its attractions. He was given the Disney Legend Award before his death in La Cañada, CA on Dec. 12, 1993.
