Contemporary artist, Keri Ataumbi, is of Native American (Kiowa) and Italian-American descent. She grew up in Wyoming where her mother ran a trading post on the Wind River Reservation and her father, Richard Greeves, sculpted romanticized images on Native Americans. Both she and her sister, bead artist Teri Greeves, became artists though their artwork is in stark contrast to the work sold at their mother's trading post.
Ataumbi left home at thirteen to attend a prep school in Boston, Mass (showing 500 of 1245 characters). |
