A naturalized American born in Istanbul, Turkey, Kutlug Ataman is a video installation artist whose personality explorations are sometimes as long as eight hours. They unfold in a "mind-numbing format' with as many as 40 talking heads on the screen at once.
He has exhibited his work at biennales in Venice, Istanbul, Sao Paulo and Documenta, the group exhibition in Kassel, Germany. In 2003, he won the Carnegie Prize at the Carnegie biennale in Pittsburgh for his work called "Kuba", an opu (showing 500 of 942 characters). |
