The following is from William Havu Gallery of Denver, Colorado:
Lawrence Argent was born in England in 1957, but grew up in Australia. He originally went to school in Australia to major in pre-med, but entered a sculpture contest on a whim and won. Deciding this was his true calling, he went on to major in sculpture at the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology, and later received his MFA in Sculpture from the Maryland Institute, College of Art in Baltimore, Maryland.
