Biography from AskART:

Lester Joseph Ambrose was born in Gardendale, Erie County, New York, to Joseph W. Ambrose and Mary Schmitz Ambrose on 16th January, 1879. He was a Veteran of the Spanish-American War. He married my great aunt, Lila Sikes, daughter of Isaac Joseph Sikes and Augusta Virginia Brooks Sikes of Macon, Georgia. Lester died 30th November, 1949, and is buried in Arlington National Cemetery.
