| Louise August works in many mediums including serigraphy, woodblock printing, mural painting, and oils. She is an accomplished illustrator of children's books including "The Way Meat Loves Salt", "Milk and Honey", and "Why on this Night".
Her work is included in the collections of Yale University, Princeton University Museum of Fine Art, the Philadelphia Museum of Art, and many other prestigious organizations.
Her images are complex and full of whimsical details. August often uses a controlled palette and dark outlines to enhance the emotive qualities of an image. Overall, her work combines charm, humor, and sensitivity to create images that speak to us all on an intuitive and emotional level
