| Mrs. Louise Van Voorhis Armstrong was born in Rochester, New York in 1885. Louise was the wife of Harry W. Armstrong. She studied at the University of Michigan while living in Manistee. As well as a painter, Mrs. Armstrong was also the author of several books and plays. After 1922 she was based in Chicago.
