| | Born in Malmö, Sweden on May 3, 1880. Afekenstam studied art in Sweden and in Munich. During the 1930s she was a resident of Pasadena and active with the Pasadena Society of Artists. She died on Aug. 4, 1939. Her media included ivory, turtle shell, and ebony.
