The following is an obituary written and submitted by Joseph Killorin and published shortly after the artist's death in October of 1992 in the Independent, a British newspaper. Mr. Killorin was a very close friend of Mary Aiken’s and of her husband, Conrad Aiken, whose letters he edited and published in 1978. Mary Augusta Hoover Aiken, painter, born Cuba New York, 11 December 1905, died Tybee Island Georgia, 22 October 1992.
