A plein-air impressionist painter, Meredith Abbott is from California, where she grew up in an idyllic rural setting above Carpinteria, just south of Santa Barbara. Her parents emphasized a deep appreciation and reverence for the land, and she and her three siblings were allowed to spend much time exploring on foot and horseback.
Abbott attended Scripps College in Claremont and majored in art. She returned home and studied with Douglass Parshall (1899-1990), Richard Meryman (1891-1963), a (showing 500 of 2723 characters). |
