| Artist Michael Allen is noted for his realist paintings and drawings
which transform everyday events, places and things from his life into
universal symbols and images.
Allen began exhibiting in 1994 though his career took off after his
drawing, "Merge" was featured in the 2000 New American Paintings.
He was awarded two scholarships from the University of Delaware where
he earned a master's degree in 2004. In 2003 his work was part of
the exhibition "Transforming the Commonplace: Masters of Contemporary
Realism" at the Susquehanna Art Museum in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.
