----------------------------------------------------------------------

Moisey Altshuler was born in the Ukraine in 1922. His professional career was launched by his first exhibition at the young age of thirteen. Since then, and during his twelve years of art education and training at the Kiev Art School and the Moscow Institute of Decorative and Monumental Arts, Moisey has participated in many international and domestic art exhibitions. Mr. Altshuler''s accomplishments include over two hundred works in granite, marble, metal (bronze, copper, aluminum, cast iron), and concrete. His monuments and memorials were erected on city and town squares and in memorial parks, and his portraits and compositions were shown in numerous exhibitions and museums around the world. Mr. Altshuler is the winner of several major art competitions. He has also been awarded numerous diplomas and medals for his contributions to the world of art. Since Mr. Altshuler moved to the United States in 1989, he has participated in the creation of two major monuments erected in Boston and in Norwood, Massachusetts. He has also participated in three art exhibitions in Farmington, CT, Boston, MA, and New York, NY. Mr. Altshuler is a member of the National Sculpture Society, headquartered in New York City. Mr. Altshuler's current show, "The Moments and the Eternity" marks the acquaintance with the images and fates of great artists. It is devoted to their short life spans and the eternity of their art. Here you can see the images of these artists, not only the mere portrayal of their physical likeness, but also, in the works, the sculptor strives to create association with his subjects historical roles, and, where possible, with the nature of their creativity and creations. The exhibition is dedicated to the memory of a great sculptor, Walker Hancock. A catalogue of the exhibition is available.
