This biography from the Archives of AskART:
A muralist and illustrator, Natalie Ascencios is especially noted as the painter of the mural in the dining room of the Algonquin Hotel in New York City.  The mural depicts members of the 'Round Table', the 1920s legendary group of writers who gathered regularly at the hotel and have given on going fame to the hotel.  Included in the mural of the Round Table are short-story writer Dorothy Parker, novelist Edna Ferber, playwrights Robert Sherwood and George S. Kaufman, drama critics Robert Benchley and Alexander Woollcott, and magazine editors Heywood Broun and Harold Ross.

As an illustrator, Ascencios had had work published in The New Yorker, Time magazine and The New York Times.  She has also illustrated adult and children's stories and designed a series of stamps for the United States Post Office.
