Biography from AskART:
| A resident of Nicholasville, Kentucky, Patrick Adams does paintings that he describes as "spiritual landscapes", ones derived from his memory. He has spent time in France and does many scenes from his recollections of being there in the countryside.
HIs method is to apply several layers of acrylic and oil, scrape that away and then re-apply paint until the surface is luminous. It is a "metaphorical way to express the fact that many people and civilizations had occupied these lands---the layers of paint refer to the layers of humanity. But the fact that they have a distinct horizon line---there is no way you would look at them and not think they were landscapes".
