| | Born in Iowa on Jan. 31, 1903. By the early 1930s Lysle Merchant had moved to southern California and was teaching in the Upland schools. During that period she was active in the Laguna Beach art scene, and soon wed Wm E. Amberson. She died in Upland, CA on Feb. 22, 1983. Her work includes still lifes.
