From the Third Mesa of the Hopi Reservation in Arizona, Robert Albert
has established a reputation as a wood carver and is especially known
for his small-scale kachinas and clown figures. He learned much
from an uncle, who sat him down with wood at a kitchen table when he
was a youngster.
Albert was a mischievous kid, who from a young age felt akin to
clowns, who stirred up both confusion and humor. However his
behavior began to change from age ten when he was inducted (showing 500 of 1759 characters). |
