| Attending Junior College in Moorpark, California, Robin Anderson learned how to use oils and watercolors and later attended the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena. She supported herself and her children by doing watercolor portraits, mostly of children, and worked as a free-lance illustrator.
A workshop taught by Jim Smyth brought her back to her desire to paint her own subjects full time. She moved to Southern California and focused on still life. She gets her ideas from interior design magazines and then buys fresh flowers for her set ups.
