Biography from The Columbus Museum-Georgia:
| Little is known about the artisan named Samuel Alexander. Records
show that he and Christian Wiltberger, Jr., a silversmith who worked in
Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, from 1817-1793, were partners between 1797
and 1808.
Alexander’s relatively short (recorded) career as a silversmith was
typical of a number of young men during this time, who plied their
talents to a variety of trades.

York, July 2002, staff, Columbus Museum. |
