| | Painter. Born in Suwalki, Poland on July 1, 1888. Sara Alexander settled in San Diego about 1924. She was a pupil of Charles Reiffel and Ruby Usher and active in the San Diego art scene until the early 1960s. She died at her home in Woodland Hills, CA on Feb. 17, 1980. Her work includes fishing and harbor scenes of the San Diego area. Exh: San Diego Art Guild; Denver Art Museum, 1936; LACMA 1935, 1938, 1942; Argent Galleries (NYC), 1943; Women Painters of the West, 1949 (award); Calif. Art Club, 1955 (award).
