Born in London, Thomas Arrowsmith was a deaf portrait and miniature painter. He attended the Royal Academy School in 1789 where he exhibited from 1792-1800 and in 1829.
Arrowsmith worked in Liverpool in 1823 and in Manchester thereafter.
Several of his portraits are in the collection of the Walker Art Gallery, Merseyside and in Liverpool. The artist is recorded in a Dictionary of British Eighteenth Century Painters in Oil and Crayon. |
