| Born in Wilmington, North Carolina, Von Allen was a part of the New York School of Abstract Expressionists of the 40's and 50's that was sweeping the New York art scene. Always an individualist, he pursed a personal course toward his own Abstract Expressionism.
The goal of his work is to exhibit fusion of structure, color, content and composition.
