Walter Monteith Aikman (1857-1939)
Born in New York City in 1857, he studied engraving under Frank French
and J.G. Smithwick; and then studied drawing and painting abroad.
He was awarded a medal for engraving at the Universal Exposition,
Paris, 1889; medal for engraving at the World’s Colombian Exposition,
Chicago, 1893.
His address in 1900 was 133 Macon Street, Brooklyn, New York.
