Born in Normandy on June 6, 1927 to an Italian father and a Russian mother, Yolande Ardissone left Normandy at age 17 to study at the Ecole des Arts Appliques in Paris. Two years later she transferred to the Ecole des Beaux-Arts* and studied in the atelier* of Unterstellar.
In 1953 she was inducted into the Salon d'Automne*. Wally Findlay Galleries began representing her in 1957, hosting her first one-woman show in the United States. She has won numerous awards due to the lively sensitiv (showing 500 of 2983 characters). |
