| A stage-set designer, his plays included Mr. Whistler and On Stage as well as USO camp shows. He was Director of the Elitch Gardens Theater in Denver, Colorado.
Ashworth was also a painter. He studied at the Art Students League with George Bellows and Kenneth Hayes Miller.
Exhibitions included the Art Institute of Chicago, and the American Watercolor Society, 1933, 1936, 1938.
He was a member of the Camouflage Society of Professional Stage-Set Designers.
