A teacher, printmaker, craftsperson and painter, Edith Horle lived primarily in Syracuse, New York where she taught at the Onondaga Valley Academy.  She earned a B.S. degree from Syracuse University and also studied with Hugh Breckenridge.

Memberships included the School Art League of Syracuse; Syracuse Art Association; Syracuse Printmakers ; Syracuse Print Club; Daubers Club; New Orleans Art Association; Prof. Women's League, Syracuse; Southern Print Makers ; Springfield Art League; Hunterdon County Art Association.

Exhibition venues were  Southern Printmakers , 1936-43; Library of Congress, 1943, 1945; National Academy of Design; Philadelphia Print Club, 1934-46; Philadelphia Art Alliance.; Northwest Printmakers , 1933-37; Woodcut Society, 1933, 1936; New Orleans Art Association; Buffalo Pr.
