This biography from the Archives of AskART:
Born in Belgium on October 14, 1884 as Carl Frederik Meyer-Lesaar, he studied at the Royal Academy of Antwerp and the Royal Academy of Dusseldorf.  He exhibited in 1907 in Brussels and 1908 in Antwerp.

 In 1912, he traveled to North America and and arrived in Montreal, Canada.  lived in Calgary in 1913 but immigrated to the U.S. in 1914 and made his home in Chicago.  That same year he was also a resident of San Francisco.

Along the way he changed his name to Charles (Myr) Lesaar.

 From 1915 to 1918, he exhibited at the Art Institute of Chicago, and in 1917 and 1926 at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts.

Lesaar lived in Oakland, California from 1936 to 1941.

His work is at the Press Club of Chicago and Sacred Heart College of San Francisco.

Lesaar died on September 5, 1941 in Gibraltar, Fish Creek, Door County, Wisconsin

Born in Belgium in 1884. Lesaar studied at the Royal Academy in Antwerp, Düsseldorf Academy, and with H. Luyten and Joseph Israels in Belgium. He was a resident of San Francisco in 1914 and of Chicago before settling in Oakland in the late 1930s. Exh: Oakland Art Gallery, 1940; Bay Region AA, 1940.
