Robert Garret Thew
Born October 13, 1892 in Sharon Connecticut. Son of Martin E. Thew and Bertha Louise (Church) Thew.
Studied Fine Art at Syracuse University and studied painting under George Bellows at Art Student’s League NYC. After serving in the U S Army 1918-19. He was employed at the J. Walter Thomson Agency where he introduced the use of color in magazine advertising.
He married Elsie Greene in 1923 and moved to Westport, Connecticut where he formed the Art (showing 500 of 1636 characters). |
