Born in New York City, Gustave Von Groschwitz was a graphics artist as
well as a teacher, museum director and writer. During the
Depression in the 1930s, he co-chaired the Graphics Division of the
Federal Arts Project with Ernest Limbach.
Von Groschwitz studied at Columbia University, receiving a B.A. Degree
in 1927. He was a member of the Print Council of America, the
Society of American Etchers and the American National Committee on
Engraving.
