| Born on Nov. 22, 1891 in Philipsburg, PA. Eskridge moved with his family to Pasadena as a child. He studied at Los Angeles College of Fine Arts, AIC, Chicago Academy of Fine Arts, with George Senseney and André Lhote in Paris. After traveling extensively in Spain and the South Seas, he lived in Chicago, New York, and Coronado Beach, CA (1917-32). Upon moving to Honolulu in 1932, he taught at the University of Hawaii until the bombing in 1941. As well as an artist, he was also the author-ill (showing 500 of 1914 characters). |
