Biography from Crocker Art Museum Store:
Painter. Born in Richfield, OH on March 2, 1855. Dustin lived in Westport, CT for many years. In NYC he studied with Wm M. Chase and at the NAD where he acted as curator. After moving to Los Angeles in 1922, he lived at 172 North La Brea while serving as curator of the Biltmore Salon. Dustin died in Los Angeles on Sept. 24, 1940. Member: Salmagundi Club (NYC); Laguna Beach AA; Calif. Art Club; Artists Fund Society. Exh: Gumps (SF), 1900; Lewis & Clark Expo (Portland), 1905; PPIE, 1915; Calif. Art Club, 1925, 1926; Stendahl Gallery (LA), 1927. In: Seattle Museum; Berkshire Museum (Pittsfield, MA); Portland (OR) Museum. AAA 1929-33; WWAA 1936-41; SCA; LA Times, 9-26-1940 (obit).
