| Bessie E. Bugbee was born in California in 1867. Bessie was a resident of San Francisco until her marriage to Louis H. Tarpley in 1891. She then moved to Portland, Oregon and became active in the local art scene. Her rare paintings include portraits and landscapes.
Exhibited: Mechanics' Institute Fair (SF), 1887; Oregon State Fairs (awards).
